Butterfly and Me 2000
Japanese choreographer Kim Itoh was commissioned to create a new Chunky Move work for the Melbourne International Festival. The result was Butterfly and Me, a work with a heightened sense of the absurd, which blended butoh with drama and contemporary dance.
Combination #3 drew together three exciting contemporary choreographers. Japan’s extraordinary choreographer Kim Itoh and Australia’s Phillip Adams joined Chunky Move’s Artistic Director and choreographer Gideon Obarzanek to create this new triple-bill. Combination #3was performed at the National Theatre in St Kilda from Friday, October 20 as part of the 2000 Melbourne Festival.
