Miss Universal 2015

4

Miss Universal saw one of the most exciting dancemakers in Australia, dancer and choreographer Atlanta Eke, create an immersive performance that questioned the possibility for universality within contemporary social structures. Eke, joined by dancers Annabelle Balharry, Chloe Chignell and Angela Goh, journeyed through a landscape of images, sculpture and transformative material created with visual artist Claire Lambe, accompanied by the captivating live music of Fountain collaborator Daniel Jenatsch. Lighting designer Matthew Adey of House of Vnholy, completed the creative team. This was Atlanta’s second work for Chunky Move. Her first, Fountain, described as “stupendously witty and utterly unexpected” (Arts Hub), was a short work created for the 2014 Next Move program It Cannot Be Stopped.
