Live Acts 1999-2000
The Live Acts series were dance/club events at the Revolver nightclub in Melbourne, and each of its five entries was a collection of very short commissioned dance works. These performances were combined with DJs, VJs, visual art installations and other guest acts to form larger events, bringing together cutting edge contemporary dance and the heady atmosphere of the thumping nightclub. Live Acts provided an opportunity for choreographers to make short, single-idea works and also set a challenge for the works to be performed to a standing audience that was free to move around within a club environment.
