SOLITUDE 1

In 2020, Covid-19 caused a global seismic shift affecting everyday life in ways that we could never have predicted.

Chunky Move, like so many other arts companies and organisations, took to the task of redesigning its program in response to these conditions. In partnership with the Tanja Liedtke Foundation, the company designed the SOLITUDE 1 home residency opportunity to ensure the continued creative work of 12 local dance artists.

SOLITUDE 1 provided funded creative research opportunities for artists: Atlanta Eke, Amber McCartney, Caroline Meaden, Dasha Tan, Geoffrey Watson, Harrison Hall, Jessica Matheson, Joel Bray, Jonathan Homsey, Lydia Connolly-Hiatt, Melanie Lane, and Nana Biluš Abaffy.

Below are excerpts from SOLITUDE 1 research outcomes by Amber McCartney, Caroline Meaden, Melanie Lane, Lydia Connolly-Hiatt, Nana Biluš Abaffy, and Harrison Hall.

SOLITUDE 1 is an initiative by Chunky Move in partnership with the Tanja Liedtke Foundation.
